There are two sides to each coin. Without opposing views, there can be no debate. If there was no dark, we wouldn’t have light. It’s the yin and yang of life.
I’m sure you’re wondering what yin and yang, and coin flips have to do with relationships. Let me explain.
This website is about building the foundation to freedom. One area of this foundation is nurturing relationships with our significant others, children, families, mentors, and friends.
The people allow into our lives influence how far we go and how fast we get there. As Jim Rohn said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
Now let me present the flip side of that coin.
As we work to build the foundation for our best life, there can be a lot of focus on ourselves. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be the first person to advocate for serving from a full cup. But let us not forget that for every person who helps us on the road to becoming our best self, there’s someone who needs the same from us. You are someone’s five people. You are someone’s five people. Click To Tweet
As we finish up this month of amazing opportunity, let us reflect on the people who need us in their corner this year.
- Who do you know who is working toward a goal you yourself have achieved?
- Who do you know who has experienced a big life change and could use a positive influence in their corner?
- Who could benefit from having the accountability of weekly check-ins?
Make no mistake, one person can change a life. And that one person can be you.One person can change a life. And that one person can be you. Click To Tweet
I invite you to identify three people you can mentor, guide, or check-in with this year. Then schedule a weekly or monthly contact with each person in your calendar. I guarantee it’ll change your life. And the lives of others too.
How has someone you know helped you achieve your goals?
Have you ever helped mentor someone to accomplish a goal?
How were the experiences similar? How were they different?
How did each experience make you feel?
